Ambulatory Records System Gets E-Rx
Dallas-based Zix Corp. will integrate its electronic prescribing technology into ambulatory electronic records software from Westborough, Mass.-based eClinicalWorks. Zix's PocketScript electronic prescribing technology will be offered as an upgrade module on eClinicalWorks' records system. Existing customers will be offered the combined technology at no charge.

The integration is designed to offer more physicians at ambulatory care facilities the ability to write electronic prescriptions, according to the companies. Physicians will be able to access both applications on PDAs and desktop PCs.
