eClinicalWorks 2009 National Users' Conference in Las Vegas.
Meaningful use has become the topic of conversation in many healthcare
organizations, leading to today’s theme from Girish Navani’s keynote
presentation this morning—Connecting the Dots…Become a Meaningful User.
Girish started his keynote with a walk through the history of
eClinicalWorks, culminating with an overview of where the company today,
which is 30,000 providers strong and having the attention of some of the
nation’s most influential people. Dr. Regina Benjamin, U.S. surgeon
general, used the system in her practice and Michelle Obama had a visit
with Unity Health Care.
Also in today’s keynote, Girish launched a few new solutions, including
a site for sharing eBO reports, titled eCWShare (http://ecwshare.eclinicalworks.com).
eClinicalWorks P2P was announced, providing interoperability for
practice-to-practice, provider-to-provider and peer-to-peer
communications not only with eClinicalWorks users, but also any
provider/practice that the provider and practice interacts with for
patient care. eClinicalWorks has upgraded several of its other products.
Another takeaway from today’s keynote is that eClinicalWorks has not
raised its support and maintenance fees in 10 years and puts more
resources in customer care than in sales and marketing. The focus of
eClinicalWorks remains as it always has been—making sure our customers
have the best solutions and care available.
This presentation was followed by a full day of the exhibit hall and
sessions, and the commencement of eCW Central, where customers receive
live support, training and demonstrations of our solutions. Session
topics included Meaningful Use, ICD-10, Patient Medical Home, Stump the
Biller, Pay-for-Performance, e-Prescribing and Community Deployments.
Attendees will flock to a dinner tonight for an evening of great food
and entertainment. Tomorrow starts another full day of knowledge sharing
and networking. Don’t miss the keynote panel discussion with some of the
industry’s premier names, sharing their thoughts and experiences for
improving care. Join eClinicalWorks, John Halamka, MD, Micky Tripathi,
PhD, Amanda Parsons, and William Biggs, MD, for what is sure to be a
riveting panel with Q&A.
