It’s one thing to claim you stand out in a crowd, but it’s even better to demonstrate it, which is exactly what eClinicalWorks® (eCW) did during the HIMSS26 conference in Las Vegas. We showcased how our leading solutions are transforming the Electronic Health Record (EHR) into an AI-powered engine that improves care delivery, streamlines every aspect of clinical practice, and helps practices meet the demands of growth.

Leading the Way to Better Interoperability

One of the most critical functions of any healthcare IT system is how well it can retrieve and organize patient information to give providers everything they need at the point of care. eCW is among those vendors taking a proactive approach to meeting and exceeding the interoperability standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Today, nearly 5,000 practices are connected to their patients’ data through PRISMANet, the eClinicalWorks Qualified Health Information Network. And 15,000 eCW customers use interoperability through FHIR, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, which facilitates secure exchange of data among nationwide networks.

“With thousands of endpoints connected to eClinicalWorks PRISMANet, we’re proving interoperability isn’t just a legal requirement,” eCW CEO Girish Navani recently told HealthIT News. “It’s a platform that finally lets different systems talk to each other.”

That level of integration means providers get a full, unified picture of their patients’ health, no matter where care was delivered. And that information is delivered in real time, at the point of care, and organized so that it is of the greatest clinical utility.

A Strong Presence and Enthusiastic Customer Engagement

eCW may be a market leader, but we’ve had some great help in recent years, including from the healow family of healthcare IT products and services. Both the eCW and healow booths at HIMSS26 were busy places, with both loyal customers and prospects stopping by to chat, learn about new products, and see demos.

A concierge medicine startup from New York, for example, credited their rapid growth to eCW software. And many other customers who have been using the eCW EHR for years are finding that integrating healow into their networks can help amplify their effectiveness, whatever their size, location, or specialty.

Trailblazing AI and Automation

Nowhere is that more evident than in the area of artificial intelligence, where eCW is setting the pace for the industry with what Navani calls “autonomous AI operations,” practical solutions that address the challenges most medical practices share. And one of the biggest stars in this year’s lineup is healow Genie™, the AI-powered contact center solution.

Much more than an AI assistant, Genie is a full patient-cycle AI workhorse that fields phone calls around the clock, lowering the burden on the front office while helping patients manage appointments, processing requests for medication refills and referrals, and even conducting customized outreach campaigns to reduce no-shows and help ensure patients get the care they need when they need it.

eCW also introduced the AI API Workbench, a platform that allows developers to build and customize autonomous AI agents for their organization’s workflows.

AI and Revenue Cycle Management

The key metric at the other end of every practice is efficient Revenue Cycle Management in the back office. Here, eCW has applied AI tools to achieve dramatic improvements in efficiency, including lowering overall costs, improving first-pass acceptance rates, and helping practices with denial management, reductions in AR, and much else.

eCW is aiming to achieve 90% to 100% autonomous billing automation prior to final review by practice staff, a target far beyond what competitors currently offer.

“Instead of just giving doctors more features to click on,” Navani explained to HealthIT News, “we are providing AI agents that handle the heavy lifting across the entire health system.”

Insights on the Competitive Landscape

HIMSS26 also highlighted the widening gap between eCW and many competitors. While vendors like Greenway and Allscripts have only recently announced AI-enabled EHR products and lack extensive business development teams, eCW is already engaged in real-world deployments. Even tech giants like Amazon and AWS, who recently announced a call center product, have yet to clarify deployment or pricing, underscoring eCW’s relative maturity in this space.

Strong Sales Momentum and Future Outlook

eCW’s presence at HIMSS26 translated into concrete business success with dozens of contracts signed, including one with a large residential program clinic near Las Vegas. The sales team’s flexible pricing discussions, Saturday demos, and personalized follow-ups helped turn prospects into customers. And retention calls even uncovered opportunities to convert clients from third-party call centers to the integrated healow Genie contact center platform.

Mobilizing EHRs for the Future

Navani shared a powerful message for healthcare leaders: “Don’t just maintain your EHR —mobilize it. Use an AI-enabled platform to finally get real, tangible value out of the data you’ve been collecting for two decades.”

This shift from static software of record to dynamic software of action is at the heart of eCW’s strategy, empowering providers to thrive in an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.

eCW’s dynamic showcase at HIMSS26 was a vivid reminder that true innovation comes from combining visionary leadership, deep technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to customer success. As eCW continues to push the boundaries of interoperability, AI, and automation, the future of healthcare IT looks smarter, more connected, and more efficient than ever.
