eClinicalWorks PRISMANet and TEFCA:
Better Connections for All

High-quality healthcare starts with physicians and patients having access to complete patient records. eClinicalWorks, through PRISMANet, our Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN), participates in national health information exchange initiatives such as TEFCA, the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement.™

With PRISMANet, eClinicalWorks customers can exchange records with healthcare organizations, including hospitals (for inpatient care), outpatient clinics and medical practices, nursing homes for long-term care, home care agencies, or any other organizations on the TEFCA framework. For the most up-to-date list of organizations that are live on TEFCA, click here.

Using PRISMA, the health information search engine embedded in our EHR, eClinicalWorks users will continue to enjoy user-friendly access to patient records regardless of where or when patient care is delivered across the nation.

As one of the few designated QHINs nationwide participating in TEFCA, PRISMANet takes that connectivity to new heights, empowering providers and patients.

TEFCA Data Exchange

Empowering Providers: TEFCA for Treatment

PRISMANet facilitates seamless sharing of data among health systems. It gives providers access to comprehensive patient records from hospitals and outpatient practices to improve care coordination and enhance clinical treatments.

Key Benefits for Your Organization

  • Nationwide Data Access: Seamlessly retrieve and share patient information across care settings nationwide. If you are already using PRIMSA, you can expect to view enhanced and richer data from additional sources in your eClinicalWorks EHR.
  • Streamlined Connectivity: Eliminate the need for multiple point-to-point interfaces and complex, proprietary agreements.
  • Improved Clinical Outcomes: Deliver higher-quality care by ensuring clinicians have timely, accurate data at the point of care.
  • Regulatory Alignment and Future-Readiness: Our EHR and QHIN are signatories of the CMS Aligned Network Pledge, underscoring our shared commitment to advancing national interoperability. This is a strategic opportunity for forward-looking healthcare providers to align with these national priorities through our technology and infrastructure.

Empowering Patients: TEFCA for Individual Access Services

Previously, patients were able to access copies of their medical records through their patient portal or upon request to their healthcare provider. TEFCA empowers patients to use the app of their choice to access their records from any participant in the network.

What This Means for Your Patients

  • Access to Their Own Health Data: Patients can securely retrieve their health information from across the national network, regardless of where care was delivered.
  • Transparency & Empowerment: Help patients understand and manage their health more effectively through complete and accessible medical histories.
  • Better Care Coordination: Participation in TEFCA reduces data silos, avoids unnecessary tests, and supports continuity of care — especially critical for patients managing complex or chronic conditions.
  • Trust Through Access: Your patients will see your organization as a champion of transparency and person-centered care.
