eClinicalWorks V10 EMR is ONC-HIT 2014 Complete EHR Certified

eClinicalWorks provides you with the tools to meet your Meaningful Use goals for Stage 1, Stage 2 and beyond.

On August 5th, 2013, eClinicalWorks announced that eClinicalWorks V10 is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as a Complete EHR on July 24th, 2013 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria supports both Stage 1 and 2 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

eClinicalWorks V10 meets the Complete EHR certification criteria as an integrated bundle of EHR modular products. The products which make up the Complete EHR, include eClinicalWorks V10. This Complete EHR is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The additional software eClinicalWorks relied upon to demonstrate compliance, includes Healthwise Incorporated – Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module, 9.7 or Krames StayWell Krames StayWell Infobutton EHR V1.2 or Ebix, Inc. A.D.A.M Version 2.0.

The additional types of costs that an eligible provider would pay to implement eClinicalWorks V10 in order to attempt to meet meaningful use objectives and measures include:

  • Implementation & Hosting Costs for:
    • Cloud-based solution: eClinicalWorks offers a Cloud-based solution that includes hosting, implementation fees and all products required to achieve meaningful use stage 2 for a monthly fee; cost is per provider.
    • Cloud-based solution (RCM model): eClinicalWorks offers a Cloud-based solution that includes hosting, implementation fees and all products required to achieve meaningful use stage 2 for a monthly fee. This fee is a percentage of the total collected revenue & there could be an additional monthly fee per FTE (Full Time Equivalent) depending on collected revenue volume.
    • License-based solution: eClinicalWorks offers a license-based solution for a one-time software license fee per provider with additional fees for implementation. Additionally, there is a supplemental monthly support & maintenance cost; cost is per FTE. For license-based solution, hosting can be the responsibility of the customer or eClinicalWorks for a monthly fee per FTE.

On top of the implementation & possible hosting costs, this certified product-version could require additional costs for:

  • A third-party partner that provides patient-specific education (170.314(a)(15) Patient-specific education resources). Costs are a monthly cost per provider & the costs vary depending on the selected third-party partner.

Additional costs that may be incurred for this certified product-version:

  • Depending on the customer’s selected lab/imaging company & their current transactional volume, this certified product-version may require one-time costs to establish interfaces to electronically exchange results. (170.314(b)(5)(a) – Incorporate laboratory tests & values/results, 170.314(a)(12) – Image Results)
  • This certified product-version may require one-time costs and/or re-occurring costs to establish interfaces for reporting to immunization public health agencies or any specialized registry. (170.314(f)(3) – Transmission to Public Health Agencies – Syndromic Surveillance)
  • Support & maintenance for integration of this certified product-version with other ONC certified systems may require additional one-time and/or re-occurring costs.
  • Depending on the patient’s preferred mode of communication, transactional costs may apply per SMS/voice message sent. (170.314(a)(14) Patient List Creation)
  • Generating and/or transmitting QRDA (170.314(c)(3) Clinical Quality measures – Electronic Submission) or other format file(s) required for participation in payer quality initiatives/programs may require one-time costs, ongoing service fees, and/or transaction-based fees.
  • Connecting to providers on other HISPs which are part of the Direct Trust Bundle may require ongoing service fees per provider. This is in regards to criteria 170.314(b)(1) – Transitions of care – receive, display and incorporate transition of care/referral summaries & 170.314(b)(2) – Transitions of care – create and transmit transition of care/referral summaries.

This certified product-version is certified to Data Portability criteria 170.314(b)(7) and can generate a set of export summaries for all patients. However, the ability to utilize the mass export functionality for Data Export is designed to work after hours & can only process 5,000 records in a single batch to ensure optimal system performance.
