Healthvision becomes official reseller of the CCHIT Certified eClinicalWorks EMR application

Westborough, Mass.—January 4, 2007—Healthvision, a leading healthcare information technology (HIT) solutions provider, announced today a seventh application partner with their e-Health Interoperability Exchange Partnership Program, with the addition of eClinicalWorks’ Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solution. Healthvision’s e-Health Interoperability Exchange Partnership program certifies that partner health IT applications, including EHR, EMR and e-prescribing, are able to exchange clinical patient data through the HIE platform according to the requirements outlined in ASTM’s Continuity of Care Record (CCR) standard.

Healthvision’s HIE platform electronically links all members of the patient care team, including physicians, hospitals, labs and other stakeholders, for the purpose of sharing key clinical data among all providers and developing a complete electronic data record for all patients. The HIE platform creates an interconnected, comprehensive electronic health record of both inpatient and ambulatory data. These patient data records are then delivered to all care team participants, either through implemented EMR or EHR applications or through Web-based portal views. Healthvision’s architecture ensures private and secure data exchange while providing a patient-centric data repository from multiple sources.

eClinicalWorks EMR solution features modern Web-based architecture and flexibility with interfaces that allow physicians to manage their entire practice as they choose. The EMR’s comprehensive functionality helps automate clinical processes and enables access to patient records in-house or remotely, allows for electronic communication with referring physicians and securely sends out clinical data and consult notes.

Healthvision is committed to working with EMR vendors like eClinicalWorks to extend the value of interoperability to the entire provider team. The combination of an interoperability exchange, such as Healthvision’s HIE platform, with an EMR application effectively connects all clinical patient data from a variety of sources, including labs, hospitals and physician practices. Putting this complete patient database into practice at the point-of-care improves both the overall quality and cost of care.

“As Healthvision’s e-Health Interoperability Exchange Partnership Program continues to expand through new partnerships with health IT vendors, our clients’ Connected Healthcare Communities will also expand their information exchange capabilities,” said Scott Decker, CEO and president of Healthvision. “We are excited to include eClinicalWorks in our interoperability exchange program and look forward to integrating their EMR solution into our clients’ connected healthcare communities.”

“Our EMR’s comprehensive functionality, combined with Healthvision’s information exchange platform, offers a total system that can help automate the flow of clinical patient information within an entire healthcare information community,” commented Girish Kumar Navani, president of eClinicalWorks. “We look forward to jointly implementing our solutions in evolving health information exchanges.”

Healthvision is committed to working with all interested EMR and EHR vendors to extend the value of data interoperability across the entire spectrum of health providers and stakeholder groups. EMR and EHR vendors are encouraged to join Healthvision’s e-Health Interoperability Exchange Partnership Program, which requires a simple certification process.
