WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—October 23, 2011—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that Kansas City’s Carondelet Health, an extension hospital for Ascension Health Information Services, has chosen eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) system for its 65 providers across 11 locations. The hospital also selected eClinicalWorks Electronic Health eXchange (eEHX) to serve as an integral component of a health system that enables interoperability between clinical systems to foster improved communication across the care continuum.

“Carondelet Health inspires to exceed the expectations of care and to provide a cohesive community to patients,” said Stephen L. Stoops, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Carondelet Health. “eClinicalWorks was selected because of its ability to improve the quality of care delivered in a comprehensive unified manner. We chose an EHR that will unify providers across multiple locations within the Carondelet community, elevating communication between practice and patients as well as productivity.”

Carondelet Health will utilize the eClinicalWorks EMR system to streamline clinical process between employed practice locations and will work with affiliated physicians to adopt the technology as well. Improving communication with access to real-time information, eClinicalWorks eEHX will serve as a hub in conjunction with the group’s existing information exchange providing physicians with improved access to patients’ health information and allowing them to exchange data more effectively.

“eClinicalWorks provides the platform to enable interoperability and secure communication between providers across multiple locations,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Employed groups, including those affiliated with Ascension Health, continue to select eClinicalWorks because of its ease of use, simpler customization and ability to integrate with more points in the healthcare ecosystem. We look forward to working with Carondelet Health.”
