10th eClinicalWorks’ Customer to Receive this Honor Achieves 174% Return on Investment for Implementing Electronic Health Records

ORLANDO, HIMSS Conference, Booth #2515—February 24, 2014—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, is pleased to congratulate MedPeds on being awarded a 2013 Ambulatory HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence for achieving excellence in the use of health information technology, specifically the use of the electronic health record (EHR), to successfully improve healthcare delivery processes and patient safety while achieving a demonstrated return on investment. This marks the 10th organization using eClinicalWorks during the past six years to receive this honor.

MedPeds, a private practice of eight providers and 23 employees, located in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Laurel, Maryland, has delivered outpatient services to approximately 6,000 patients during the past year. By implementing the EHR system, the practice has improved both efficiency and the ability to enhance care, making care more convenient and efficient. With a 90% adoption rate of the eClinicalWorks Patient Portal, patients have access to communicate on their schedule, while also enhancing their understanding of treatment. Since implementing eClinicalWorks, MedPeds has saved $1,641,295, a 174% return on investment (ROI), which is a significant financial, organizational and cultural return.

“MedPeds is honored to receive the 2013 Ambulatory HIMSS Davies Award in recognition of the practice’s successful application of an electronic health record to improve patient care,” said Dr. Seth Eaton, physician and founder of MedPeds. “Using eClinicalWorks since 2004, our practice has experienced an improvement to both efficiency and the ability to enhance care. The technology gives patients the flexibility to ask specific questions regarding their health and access, 24×7, to medical information. In addition, implementing eClinicalWorks allows MedPeds to gather and develop value measures, directly improving clinical quality reporting and further enhance patient engagement.”

“eClinicalWorks is proud of the achievements made by MedPeds and its commitment to providing a secure communication channel between the practice and patient, and ultimately supplying the best possible care,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “This marks the 10th eClinicalWorks customer to have been awarded the prestigious HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence, making us extremely pleased and motivating us to take our solutions even further. We congratulate MedPeds on receiving this respected award.”

MedPeds will be recognized at the Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Fla., during February 23-27th, 2014. More information on this award application can be found at the HIMSS Web site.
