Extends Relationship Award-winning Electronic Health Records (EHR) Company Holds with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for Providers City-wide

Westborough, Mass.—June 15, 2010—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that the non-profit NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH), the federally-recognized Regional Extension Center (REC) for New York City, has selected eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) system as an option for providers located in New York City.

“With one of the nation’s largest health care systems, New York is leading the way for the adoption of electronic health records,” Assistant Commissioner Dr. Amanda Parsons, head of the Primary Care Information Project at the New York City Health Department. “We work closely with eClinicalWorks to deploy EHR technology to improve health outcomes across our health care system. eClinicalWorks has been a partner in this endeavor since 2007 and we have successfully helped more than 2,000 primary care physicians in small physician practices, community health centers, and hospitals adopt and use this EMR/PM system. We look forward to extending this relationship with our joint efforts through NYC REACH.”

The federal department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded a $21.7 million grant to NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH), which has selected eClinicalWorks EMR/PM as an EHR recommended for implementation by healthcare practitioners within New York City’s five boroughs.

“eClinicalWorks has a proven track record of successful implementations in New York City,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “NYC REACH and eClinicalWorks have a shared commitment to providing the most comprehensive solution for their physicians to improve the quality of health. We look forward to working with NYC REACH and all providers in the City on improving public health outcomes.”

The NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH) is the federally designated regional extension center serving physicians in New York City. It was launched by the NYC Health Department’s Primary Care Information Project (PCIP), in partnership with the Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY). NYC REACH will encourage health IT adoption in physician offices and community health centers to coordinate care and improve health outcomes, specifically through the use of prevention oriented electronic health records (EHRs).
