Washington-area Multi-Specialty Physician Group Replacing Legacy Electronic Health Records Solution with eClinicalWorks for 110 Providers

SAN ANTONIO, eCLINICALWORKS USERS CONFERENCE—October 11, 2013—eClinicalWorks®, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announced that Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group, the 110 employed multi-specialty physician group of Virginia Hospital Center, a leading comprehensive healthcare facility in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, has selected eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution. This solution will help streamline processes in addition to improving both provider-to-provider and provider-to-patient communication.

“Virginia Hospital Center provides a vast array of services for our patients,” said Christopher D. O’Brien, FACHE, Vice President for Physician Services at Virginia Hospital Center. “We needed a technology solution that integrates our medical, surgical and primary care practices with our lab and radiology systems and supports our physicians at the point-of-care. Reporting capabilities within the EHR will help our organization both clinically and fiscally. The comprehensive functionality within eClinicalWorks closely fits our physicians’ needs and will help us improve communication at the point-of-care.”

“Our practice is highly focused on the care of our patients, particularly preventive care,” said Dr. Terri Remy, Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group – Primary Care Alexandria, an early eClinicalWorks adopter. “Clinical decision support features and alerts within eClinicalWorks will aid our decision-making at the point-of-care and help us treat our patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes.”

Virginia Hospital Center, recently named one of the America’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics, will utilize eClinicalWorks EHR solution to streamline processes between its Physician Group practice locations and emphasize preventive care. The solution will also assist in improving continuity of care across multiple settings, allowing critical information to be accessible at the point-of-care.

“Virginia Hospital Center turned to eClinicalWorks for replacing its silo EHRs with a comprehensive, cloud-based platform that includes capabilities to support the provider, patient and population,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “eClinicalWorks brings extensive clinical and revenue solutions that are easy to use in a variety of settings, getting practices up and running quickly.
