The article — which surveyed AI use among 67 health systems in the fall of 2024 — also found obstacles to the successful adoption and use of AI tools. These included insufficient understanding of how to adopt and implement AI tools, as well as financial and regulatory concerns.

The Tipping Point: Majority of Practices Now Rely on AI

The leading takeaway from the eCW survey is that AI has now reached an important tipping point, with more than half of respondents (56%) reporting that they are using AI solutions in their daily operations.

Of that number, more than 90% reported that AI has led to an increase in efficiency in one or more areas, with 78% rating AI’s effectiveness as moderate, significant, or extreme. Respondents noted that AI has been particularly helpful in better understanding their patients and helping providers better prepare for appointments.

Fax Overload? Let AI Handle It

Practices of every size and specialty report receiving high volumes of faxes, in some cases hundreds of pages daily, including patient records that can run to many pages. More than 70% of practices using Image AI Assistant report saving one to three hours or more daily.

PRISMA AI Powers Smarter, Faster Patient Data Access

AI Meets RCM: Maximize Revenue Without Missing a Beat
