NC22: Tips for a Successful Conference Experience

eClinicalWorks

Six key things to know before you go to Orlando

With less than a week to go to the 2022 eClinicalWorks and healow National Conference, we can’t wait to see you in person and show you the many innovative healthcare IT solutions we have developed. But before we get to all that, here are six tips to bear in mind for a more productive and enjoyable Conference experience!

1. The Events App unlocks all things Conference

The eClinicalWorks Events App is the single most important technology move you can make for Conference. The app gives you access to everything you need to know — a day-by-day schedule with the date, time, and location of every breakout session and meeting, your personal schedule, a map of the venue, and any other information you may need.

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to download it here and start building your schedule.

2. Register Thursday night and beat the Friday rush

The Conference registration desk opens at 4 PM on Thursday, October 6, the night before the Conference begins, and remains open until 8 PM. Stop by as soon as you have checked in to the hotel to pick up your badge and other Conference materials. You’ll not only beat the Friday morning crowds, but you and your team will have that much more time to focus on the learning ahead. (If you don’t make it Thursday night, that’s OK, the desk reopens at 7:30 AM Friday.)

3. Don’t boot this one: Wear comfortable shoes!

The National Conference is a big event, and that means a big venue. Big venues necessarily involve a lot of walking. So, be sure you wear comfortable shoes and pack an extra pair just in case. With the possible exception of the Saturday Evening Soirée, no one is going for style points with their footwear. Put comfort first.

4. Yes, even in Florida, you should plan to layer up

While the Conference space is climate-controlled and will welcome thousands of people, some spaces can be drafty, chilly, or downright cold. It’s hard to focus on learning when you’re uncomfortable, so pack that sweatshirt or jacket. And if you’re lounging by the pool after sunset with newfound friends, having an extra layer on hand will be most welcome.

5. Water stations, water stations everywhere …

With water stations throughout the Conference venue, no one should be thirsty, but do remember your favorite reusable water bottle. There’s no better way to stay hydrated, and you’ll be helping reduce waste and conserve resources, as well.

6. Remember to stretch between sessions

As veteran Conference attendees know — and newcomers soon learn — the National Conference can be an intense and exhausting experience. With so much to learn and absorb, it’s important to take strategic timeouts to keep yourself focused and in top form. Use the time between sessions to stretch, breathe, or take a short walk. Humans learn better when they are relaxed and refreshed!

Finally, know this: While completely optional, our selfie challenges will take place throughout the Conference. Look for them and use the hashtag #eCWNC22 to participate on social media. There’s nothing wrong with some bragging rights for you and your practice!
